چکیده

Background:Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is an emerging tick-borne viral zoonotic disease that endemic in Iran. The CCHF virus spread by RNA of the genus Orthonairovirus , family Nairoviridae. has been identified as most frequent hemorrhagic fever route transmission to humans through infected tick bites, contact with livestock, blood or tissues humans. Objectives: aim this study was investigate infection livestocks different species ticks and also determine presence Jahrom township. Methods:A total 200 were collected from township, Fars Province, Southern To detect ticks, extracted using RNeasy Mini Kit Qiagen subjected reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. Results:Of all tested, twelve (6%) positive for virus, 124 (62%) belonged Rhipicephalus sanguineus, 37 (18.5%) Hyalomma anatolicum, 23 (11.5%) marginatus, 7 (3.5%) asiaticum, 4 (2%) dromedarii, 5 (2.5%) bursa. Of area, 117 (58.5%) male 83 (41.5%) female. Conclusion:In study, first time, we analyzed samples township virus. findings our might be valuable designing preventive measures regarding province, although further studies are required.

Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus in Hyalommid Ticks, Northeastern Kenya

As part of ongoing arbovirus surveillance, we screened ticks obtained from livestock in northeastern Kenya in 2008 to assess the risk for human exposure to tick-borne viruses. Of 1,144 pools of 8,600 Hyalomma spp. ticks screened for Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever virus by reverse transcription PCR, 23 pools were infected, demonstrating a potential for human exposure.
